EKE-1C Danfoss expansion valve driver
The flexible pre-programmed EKE superheat controller from Danfoss provides ultimate software control, allowing you to tailor the performance of your system to your exact requirements. EKE is ideal for controlling a wide range of commercial air conditioning and refrigeration applications, such control helps you to achieve the highest efficiency in the system reducing the operational cost by up to 20% with minimal effort. EKE is generally used where there is a requirement for accurate control of superheat or temperature control in connection with air conditioning and refrigeration. The superheat is regulated to the lowest possible value within a short period of time. It regulates the superheat of the evaporator by charging optimally even when there are great variations of load resulting in reduction of energy consumption and operational cost. EKE superheat controller can be used in HVAC and refrigeration applications such as Chillers, Processing plant / Cabinet cooling, Cold store (air coolers), A/C plant / Air conditioning, Heat pumps. Residential Heat Pump, Transport cooling, Stepper Motor Driver and etc.
EKE 1C is more complete EKE series electronic expansion valve danfoss driver which provides the user with high connectivity.EKE 1C is generally used where there is a requirement for accurate control of superheat or temperature control as stepper motor driver in refrigeration and air conditioning systems. EKE 1C danfoss superheat controller powe supply is 24Vac/dc. It is able to connect to MMIGRS2 ,MCX controller and third part display with Modbus RJ12 and CANBus RS485 ports. EKE series can be programmed by Koolprog software.
EKE 1C Applications
EKE 1C is used in three main applications :
Driver mode
A master controller is commanding the valve open degree to the EKE 1C controller. The control signal can be fed by Analog signal 0 – 10 V, a 4 – 20 mA or Bus communication via RS485 (Modbus RTU).
Superheat control mode
EKE 1C can use as a PI controller that controls the superheat of the evaporator based on a
Suction pressure and temperature sensors. In superheat mode the controller will control the superheat to be stable
and close to the superheat setting. If superheat is too low the flow in the expansion is decreased and superheat
will be higher
Temperature control mode
EKE 1C can be used for temperature control. The temperature control is an ON/OFF thermostat that opens/closes the stepper valve or modulating thermostat that regulates temperature more smoothly following a temperature reference point. The temperature control can be accomplished via a signal from temperature sensor placed in the air flow before the evaporator or the sensor placed in the air flow after the evaporator.
